Often, in a group conversation, two or more people who speak the same language will get into a side conversation. How do the people who do not understand the language feel? Of course, they feel left out and may feel uncomfortable, wondering "What are they talking about?"
What can you do about this?
Make sure everything is interpreted!
If a side conversation begins, ask the interpreter to interpret the side conversation so everyone is included.
Explain that side conversations make people who don't understand the language feel left out. Ask people to avoid side conversations.
